Kurt
Warner - vs
St.Louis
 |
StingRay: |
(A-) Warner just won me two
championships so stick with him. He
will post close to 300 yards and at
least 2 touchdown passes. |
Tom
Brady - at New
York Giants
 |
CrunchTime: |
(A-) With the bye next week Brady
will get at least 3 quarters of work
and will be well worth starting as
they try and wrap up the perfect
regular season. The Giants will ease
off the effort once this game gets
even mildly out of hand, the
Patriots will not. |
|
| |
Derek Anderson
- vs. San Francisco
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(B+) Anderson is a very good number
one this week against the 26th
ranked 49ers passing defense. |
Marc
Bulger - at
Arizona
 |
StingRay: |
(B+) Bulger will do damage to the
Cardinals 20th ranked passing
defense. |
Sage
Rosenfels - vs.
Jacksonville
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(B+) The Jaguars are 19th against
the pass and will not want to get
any of their starting defenders hurt
before the playoffs so I would
expect Rosenfels to put up above
average numbers. |
Chris Redman -
vs. Seattle
 |
CrunchTime: |
(B) In three of his four starts he's
posted at least 20 points and been
worth starting. This week he faces
the 20th ranked pass defense of
Seattle and looks to be targeting
another 20 point outing. This week
is no different than any other for
the Falcons as they've been out of
the hunt for quite some time. This
game means a lot more to them than
it does NFC's #3 seed. |
Cleo
Lemon - vs.
Cincinnati
 |
CrunchTime: |
(B) Lemon is not usually a stud
scorer, but you have to like his
match up this week as all the
Dolphins continue their early
auditions for Parcells. The Bengals
give up around 230 yards and almost
2 scores each week to opponents'
passing attacks. That's good enough
to make Lemon a worth while option
in the most strange of fantasy
weeks. |
Donovan McNabb
- vs. Buffalo
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(B) McNabb should be able to post
very good numbers against the 28th
ranked Bills passing defense. |
Carson Palmer -
at Miami
 |
CrunchTime: |
(B-) With four straight poor
outings, including a missed
opportunity against Cleveland,
Palmer has continued to let owners
down. This week that may continue,
but I do like his chances of getting
a couple touchdown tosses against a
team that ranks 25th in the league
in passing touchdowns against. |
Jay
Cutler - vs
Minnesota
 |
StingRay: |
(B-) You can't run on Minnesota so
Cutler will throw plenty in this
game. |
Matt
Hasselbeck - at
Atlanta
 |
CrunchTime: |
(B-) Look for Hasselbeck to at least
play a half, and potentially more.
Even with just a half of play he's a
decent option against the Falcons'
rocky ship. I expect him to post
around 180 yards and 1 – 2 scores.
And yes, that's more than I expect
from many this week. |
Shaun Hill - at
Cleveland
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(B-) The Browns are 29th against the
pass so Hill should have another
good game this Sunday. He threw 3
touchdowns last week against the
Bucs. |
Todd
Collins - vs.
Dallas
 |
CrunchTime: |
(B-) With all the teams who are just
waiting for next week, I like the
teams that have something to play
for. Collins has posted solid
outings in two of his three weeks
and is facing a Dallas team that's
sitting pretty. He isn't likely to
put up any astounding numbers, but
this week he's an above average
option. |
|
| |
Matt
Moore - at
Tampa Bay
 |
CrunchTime: |
(C+) He hasn't proven himself yet,
but it will be like pre-season for
him this week against most of the
Tampa second stringers. That makes
him an interesting choice for all
you owners whose normal starters
aren't going to play much this week. |
Vince Young -
at Indianapolis
 |
CrunchTime: |
(C+) Young has been a pretty big
disappointment but has the most to
play for this weekend. Normally the
Colts are a horrid match up (1st
against the pass), but this week
they'll likely be resting some key
players and Young could capitalize.
After all, their playoffs start this
week. |
Drew
Brees - at
Chicago
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(C) The Bears were able to shut down
the Packers at home last week so I
would not expect great numbers from
Brees this week. |
Jon
Kitna - at
Green Bay
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(C) Kitna is hot and cold and he is
facing an above average Packers pass
defense so do not be surprised if he
struggles again this week. |
Philip Rivers -
at Oakland
 |
StingRay: |
(C) I hated watching Rivers trash
talk Monday night since he isn't
very good. The Raiders will give him
trouble on Sunday. |
Tony
Romo - at
Washington
 |
CrunchTime: |
(C) It's unclear how much of Romo we
should expect to see this week. We
know we won't see any Owens and that
Glenn should make an appearance, but
beyond that he's a big gamble given
that NFC home field advantage is all
locked up. |
Brett Favre -
vs. Detroit
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(C-) The Packer starters are only
expected to play the first half. You
should look elsewhere. |
Eli
Manning - vs.
New England
 |
CrunchTime: |
(C-) He's had some bad conditions of
late, but he's had even worse
performances. With only 2 passing
touchdowns in the last 3 games you
must have a better option. Add to
that the possibility that Plaxico
sits all or a good portion of the
game and he's a rough option. |
Jeff
Garcia / Luke McCown
- vs. Carolina
 |
CrunchTime: |
(C-) We can be sure they'll split
time, it's just not entirely clear
to what extent. Plus, I'm not sure
McCown is someone you want starting
for you against the 13th ranked pass
defense in the league. |
Kyle
Orton - vs. New
Orleans
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(C-) The Saints are 30th against the
pass so if you need an emergency
starter this week Orton should post
good numbers. |
Peyton Manning
- vs. Tennessee
 |
CrunchTime: |
(C-) He's a big risk this week, and
a great example of why fantasy
should end prior to week 17. Manning
is only likely to play extended time
if Harrison goes and they decide to
work on their timing. Either way,
I'm not expecting to see him on the
field much, and his backup wouldn't
be a good option against a Titans
team fighting for their playoff
lives. |
Trent Edwards -
at Philadelphia
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(C-) Edwards has been okay, but I
think the Eagles defense will be
able to pressure and confuse him.
Start someone else. |
|
| |
Kellen Clemens
- vs Kansas City
 |
StingRay: |
(D+) Pennington will be sent back to
the bench this week for Clemens. The
Chiefs are ranked 13th against the
pass. |
Troy
Smith - vs.
Pittsburgh
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(D+) Smith did not exactly light up
the scoreboard last week but he will
start for Boller again this week.
The Steelers are not a good match up
for rookie quarterbacks. |
David Garrard -
at Houston
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(D) Garrard will probably not play
more then a half so you can't trust
any Jaguars. |
Tarvaris Jackson
- at Denver
 |
StingRay: |
(D-) He may run one in but I don't
see him throwing any touchdowns this
week. |
Ben
Roethlisberger
- at Baltimore
 |
Smokin' Joe: |
(F) Roethlisberger is probably not
going to play this weekend. The
Steelers are looking to get him
healthy for the playoffs. I would
not start Charlie Batch in his
place. |
Brodie Croyle -
at New York Jets
 |
StingRay: |
(F ) Questionable for this week and
he's not very good. |
JaMarcus Russell
- vs San Diego
 |
StingRay: |
(F) The San Diego defense is playing
extremely well and the rookie has a
lot to learn. |
